Single White Female (Bridget Fonda)

OK, I know, this movie came out in 1992- practically ancient history in movie-land, but I wasn't all that into TV and movies when I was younger (actually, I wasn't allowed to go to movies and we didn't have a TV in my house when I was a kid- believe me, I would have been addicted back then if that had been an option!). We recently signed up for Netflix, actually, we signed up this past weekend and I have made very good use of it thus far!
Last night I watched 'Single White Female' starring one of my only female crushes (besides my Angelina Jolie crush- pre kids of course!) Bridget Fonda.

I hope this movie was decently rated back when it came out, but if it didn't do so well, it's OK because I may start a revival- I thought it was HILARIOUS! Not in the we-intentionally-made-this-movie-funny way, more in the this-is-supposed-to-be-scary-so-why-can't-I-stop-laughing way. And I believe Jessica Biel may have stolen Bridget Fonda's nose, but that is for someone else to blog about entirely!

Another awesome discovery from this film is the adorable Stephen Weber. Who? Ahh, I will enlighten you- the douche executive on the now cancelled Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip! Yes- he has a decent role- and one that required some partial nudity I might add! He had a very cute behind back in the day..... but I digress.

The untold star of the movie is Jennifer Jason Leigh (I know- surprisingly well known cast wouldn't you say???) She plays the scary new roommate who ends up taking over Bridget's life and basically killing or almost killing all of her friends! There is a lot of nakedness in this movie, so beware, don't watch it at work or in front of anyone!
Another random actor is Stephen Tobolowsky (who?) aka Bob from Heroes- and he actually looks EXACTLY the same, just a bit thinner...
I have pasted the very short synopsis of the movie from http://www.imdb.com/ you should watch this movie when you have a long boring night and can't sleep- it's one of those campy bad classics you'll find funny and thoroughly horrible at the same time....

"Allie's new roommate is about to borrow a few things without asking. Her clothes. Her boyfriend. Her life.
Living with a roommate can be murder."

Heroes

Finally some good stuff happening!

I like the irony of Claire being kidnapped by Elle's dad, and Elle being taken by Claire's dad. Seems fitting.
I liked how Mr. Bennet put Elle in a chair with her feet in water and kept hosing her down so any time she tried to electrocute him, she only ended up zapping herself.

And Officer Parkman realizes not only can he read people's thoughts, he can control/influence them as well. This does not bode well for him staying on the good side.

I am annoyed by Mohinder's turning to be on the Company's side, against Claire's dad. He started out a good guy, searching for knowledge and seems to be changing into someone driven by something else.

Hiro gets to meet himself as a young boy (which is cute).
I kinda don't have the patience to read all the sub titles when they are talking in japanese or spanish, but I get the gist of what is going on and read every few sentences.
Hiro wants to save his dad's life, but his dad convinces him that it is his destiny and Hirp must accept that.
But we finally get to see how his Dad really dies- cuz Hiro freezes time and looks at the guys face- and it's the 'dead' Takezo Kenzei who Hiro killed in China when he went back in time! (Also now known as Adam, who was held by the Company but escaped, and is friends with Peter Petrelli).
Hmmmm, interesting.

This is the mysterious Adam Munroe- he can heal miraculously, but what they didn't know was that he is immortal- his cells don't grow old anymore. He is 400 years old.

The hostage exchange goes very very wrong- Elle zaps Claire as Wes flies away with her and Mr. Bennet shoots Elle in the arm, and as he is standing over Bob ready to shoot him, Mohinder shoots Mr, Bennet first and it is exactly like the painting depicted.
Of course, this is Heroes so we may find out that he is immortal too or something and can't be killed...

Dum Dum Dum... we see the blood that Bob took from Claire while he was holding her hostage going through an IV into her dad's arm- and his eye that was shot out is miraculously grown back- and now he is in the hands of the Company...

Great ending!!!
Finally, I am actually looking forward to next week's episode- although they didn't show Peter Petrelli at all- boo

Heroes

I FINALLY am all caught up with Heroes- and might I add, it took four boring weeks- but this weeks episode was finally a good one!

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I find Heroes to be tedious waiting week to week, and since I watched the entire first season in pretty much one shot over the summer, I am okay doing that now again with the second season.

Glad I am patient, because if I had watched the other three episodes one week at a time, I would have stopped watching the show! They were pretty bad- but this week the show redeemed itself and was decent and a ton of loose ends got all tied up.

I love that Takezo Kenzei is alive and going by the name Adam, has somehow been hiding with the company for thirty years and has made friends with Peter Petrelli.

I also love that we FINALLY found out exactly what happened after last season's finale- why Nathan sees burn victims every time he looks in the mirror and how the Haitian sent Peter away in a shipping container with no memories.

It is great that they answered most of my millions of questions- but now where will they go with it?

I will probably wait a few weeks to watch again and find out.

Heroes

I am having a hard time focusing on this season's Heroes.

To be honest, I didn't watch last season live, I actually watched all the episodes over the summer, so I got really into it and didn't have to wait each week for a new episode.

Having said that, I am currently three episodes behind, and it's killing me. Not only does the NBC video player pretty much suck, but every time I start the episode, I have to go and start all over cuz I just can't follow what's going on.

I have 3 hours till I have to get to the airport- hopefully the stupid player works and I can catch up finally.

Or just wait till June and watch the whole season then.... :)
