Private Practice

I don't even know where to start!
So much happened in the first ten minutes...

Addison avoided Pete,
Naomi avoided Sam,
Violet avoided Cooper
and all the women huddled in Naomi's office
and all the men congregated in the kitchen
while Dell watched from the front desk, completely clueless.

Anyway,
eventually Addison went downstairs to get coffee (so she wouldn't have to go into the kitchen) and she met a nice guy who let her go before him in line.
When she gets back upstairs, she tells Pete she will work with him but socially he is just an acquaintance.
Next scene, the guy Addison just met is sitting in Violet's office- he is her patient! And he shows Violet the card Addison gave him while saying, "I think the next step is for me to start dating again."

While all this is going on, the clinic is starting a program where pregnant or new mom's can call and drop off their babies if they don't want to keep them. Addison and Pete are partners.

Sam and Naomi end up discussing that they slept together, and then their priest calls them (he doesn't know they got divorced and they are freaked out that he called them the day after they slept together) but all he wanted from them was to have them see a nun who is mysteriously sick and doesn't trust hospitals.

Ok- the show just got hilarious for a random reason- the girl who plays Danielle Hodge (Joy Lauren http://imdb.com/name/nm1280053/ ) on Desperate Housewives just called Addison to surrender her newborn daughter! If you watch Desperate Housewives you'd know that on the show she just gave birth to a boy... she's having a very fertile season! Anyway, she has this little girl at home, her mom doesn't know, and she hands the baby over to Addison.

Meanwhile, the rash on the one nun has spread and now all the nuns are getting sick and have the rash. The disease specialist calls back and it turns out they all have Typhoid (which I am not sure what it is besides a bad disease that is killer in third world countries and extremely contagious).

Cooper is trying to get 'back on the horse' so he arranges a date online and when he shows up it turns out to be Charlotte, the blonde bitchy doctor from the hospital! Instead of laughing she gets mad and walks out.

Addison spends the night with the new baby at the office-but can't find her other shoe.

And now it gets gross.
Carl, the new guy Addison is dating has a secret otherwise he wouldn't be seeing Violet in the first place, so when Violet gets called to the ER and it's Carl- who has just had a high heel shoe removed from his, let's put this delicately, rear end- the nickname she told Pete and Cooper that Carl calls himself makes sense- Trunk. And yes, he stole Addison's shoe.
He tells Violet to tell Addison he can't see her anymore, he can't trust himself around her shoes.

Turns out the nuns got sick from the priest who was sneaking in for cooking lessons.

And the little girl baby gets taken back when the grandmother finds out her daughter had a baby and didn't tell her- they name her Melanie.

Cooper asks Charlotte (the doctor from St. Ambrose) out for a drink, and she makes him promise its just a drink, but of course the next scene is them in bed...

Addison finally ends her long day, and Pete tells her she shouldn't be alone, but she walks away and knocks on Sam's door, and finds Naomi and cries.

It was actually a decent episode.

Private Practice

Show opener is a huge steamy make out kiss between Addison and Pete- unfortunately interrupted by the ill-timed arrival of Dell. Oops.

Sam gets a call from a patient who asks him to make a home visit for her leg- but the address turns out to be a convenience store, and the patient a hostage, the leg in question has been shot and is attached to the cashier, and the gunman is Sarah Gilbert (you know, the daughter on Roseanne?)

In weirdness news, Cooper is asked to be a friend with benefits by Violet. I don't like her, I don't like her character, I like Cooper but won't if he actually sleeps with her.

There is a woman (Susan) who scheduled a water labor, and she is a widow. All the guys from the LAPD unit where her husband worked show up to support her through it- but she requested that no one come, and won't see them. But that still means there are a ton of good looking officers in uniform hanging out at the office, causing a flutter for Addison and the others.
As she goes into labor, she starts crying and suddenly the reality that her husband is dead comes over her and she won't push. Addison jumps into the water with her and holds her and helps her get through it reminding her she isn't alone... (Addison had previously mentioned that she hates water birth, they are icky and gooey...) and then a soaking wet Addison gets to bring the baby out to see the officers who are waiting outside. Later on, one of the officers asks Addison out, but she says she has plans... cuz she is meeting Pete that night!

Switching back to Sam being a hostage for a moment, Sarah Gilbert's water breaks- yeah, she's pregnant. He calls Naomi and asks her to help him deliver the baby over the phone. Turns out the cashier who got shot is the father of the baby Kelly is going into labor with, and she showed up to get money from the store because she can't afford to take care of it alone. Sam is delivering the baby on the floor of the convenience store, but then it gets stuck and he needs to reach and rotate its shoulders so he doesn't lose the baby. He works it out and the baby girl is born. Then he tells her he needs to call the police (after all, she held up a store and shot the guy).

While all that drama is going on, Dell is assigned to watch over another woman who came in to deliver- but things happen too quickly and he ends up delivering his first baby! Yay!

Cooper shows up at Violet's but while he is talking about how great the day was and babies, she tells him to stop talking and get naked, and Cooper realizes she is naked and can't go through with it. She is all mad that he rejected her- instead of realizing its because he likes her, and she throws him out.
Yup, I still don't like her.

Cooper knocks on Addison's door because he sees the light is on, and finds out that Pete stood Addison up for their date.
In an ironic twist of fate, Pete shows up at Violet's door. He tells her when his wife died, they had been trying to have a baby. (I guess since he met Addison and knows she was trying to have a baby too it freaked him out?)

Sam staggers into the clinic with the cut on his cheek from being hit with the gun, and tells Naomi what happened at the convenience store and she freaks on him, saying she is so tired of being the only one around there who thinks... and then she rushes into his arms and they get all steamy together (On the conference table I might add).

Not a bad episode!

Private Practice

Better episode this week, not so much humor but good plots.

Dell speaks up about a girl who Copper suspects is being hit by her mom, and Sam gets mad that he voices his opinion- until Dell explains that the girl shows the same signs and does the same things he did when he was 'in that situation'- so we find out that Dell was abused, that's really sad.

Valerie Mahaffey is the actress who played the mother with MS who beats her daughter (she was also Alma, the dead/missing wife of Orson on Desperate Housewives a while ago). She is great at what she does because after this episode I remembered how much I hated her when she was playing Alma- there is just something about her- her voice, her look- that makes me think of nails on a chalkboard!
http://imdb.com/name/nm0536723/

And in finally news- Addison and Pete FINALLY kiss! Of course Sam walks up as they are kissing and that interruption gives Addison her excuse and she walks away, so we are once more left hanging- will they/won't they- but it's all good.

Private Practice

Dell is awesome!
I love his character on the show, and as I have said often, Chris Lowell is adorable in real life too!

He gets so much attitude from these women when he tries to do their checkups, and finally he can't take it, stops being smiley polite and rips into one of them, and earns her respect. Love him.

I am annoyed that the therapist (whose name I can't remember) is such a basket case about her REMARRIED ex-husband! I don't like the story line and Cooper keeps helping her past the bad days, only to watch her go through it all again every time her ex gives her the time of day. Yech.

Addison should have told MAYA that she needed to confess her STD to her parents- instead, she covered up and even though it turned out that Maya was covering for a friends, if it had been Maya then Addison really did betray Naomi... dunno, annoyed at that too.

The only good part of this episode (Besides Dell) was Addison's dreams about Pete, but even those got weird because he FOUND OUT and they talked about it! Huh? Talk about tension at work...
Hope next week is better.
