Last week left off with a cliffhanger- actually a few!
This week, the episode starts with Betty sitting in Hilda's beauty chair getting her hair done- she's letting Hilda practice on her before she gets real customers. Betty is getting ready to go see Henry's band- The IRS (Internal Rhythm Service).
Christina is staying in Wilhelmina's house for the pregnancy- or at least until they know if the embryo implant was successful.
Betty sees the show is tanking, and suggests Henry sing instead of the absolutely tone deaf singer- but Henry doesn't want to. Daniel shows up to support Betty and Henry- and suddenly (randomly) Gabrielle Union walks up to Daniel and gets him to dance (she's on this show?). Yup, she's on the show- her name is Rene and she picks up Daniel by asking him to dance to make her boyfriend jealous- but when her 'bf' starts kissing another guy, the gig is up. She was lying to just hit on him.
Amanda and Marc are being, well, Amanda and Marc and talking about how Gene Simmons is her dad- Marc suggests she write a song, record it and post it on YouTube for Gene Simmons to see. Betty gets Daniel to let her interview Phillip Roth and write an article for the magazine, and then the scene flashes to Daniel and Rene kissing in his apartment- and as they are kissing in the dark, Daniel's mother speaks up- she is on the bed waiting for Daniel... Rene isn't fazed, but she leaves and says she'll be in touch.
Meanwhile, Betty is excited to get her big article written. Turns out it wasn't the guy she thought it was (Phillip Roth) instead it's Phil Roth... but she perks up and introduces herself to him. His new book is called "Tap That- How to Score With Hot Bitches". ASS- Approach, Subdue, Score. EK- Esteem Killer. These are terms the slimy Phil starts throwing at Betty about how to pick up chicks! She stumbles on trying to interview him professionally, but he's so crude. Amanda walks in and he demonstrates by using the 'EK' (of course it wokrs) and Betty wraps up FAST, but not before he autographs a copy of his book for her.
Daniel's mom has no one to talk to so she starts bugging Daniel. And she's cleaning his apartment- found the dirty mags... Daniel asks Betty to find something for his mom to do... a cruise maybe.
Betty gives Daniel an article about Hilda's new business because she didn't want to write about Phil Roth. Daniel fights back and tells Betty she is 'literally judging a book by its cover' (the woman has an apple in her mouth and is on a platter). Daniel says she doesn't have to do the article, because Phil called anyway and asked for a different writer because he thought Betty was too closed minded- which makes her determined to read the book and actually do to article.
Cut to Daniel and Rene making out in her apartment... after he sees her figure in the shower and goes to join her- only to find WILHELMINA!!! Rene is her sister!!! She didn't tell Daniel because he was afraid it wold scare her off, and he says she was right and leaves. Wilhelmina confronts her and tells her off for bringing Daniel to her apartment when she gave her a place to stay. They argue about it, so you know there will be trouble... turned out Christina was sitting in the kitchen and heard it all.
When Daniel talks to Betty about it, he admits he really liked her... but she's Wilhelmina's sister...
Amanda and Henry figure out that they need each other- he is looking for a lead singer and she is looking for a and (its really funny how the scene plays out actually).
Henry and Betty are reading 'Tap That' and she keeps harrumphing about how awful the guy is... Henry is intrigued and they decide to try his methods and see if they work- except Betty wants to ask Geo to do it (because he's a dog) even though Henry offered...
And when Betty and Geo are sitting in the bar discussing the girl Geo is going to try it on- they see her give her number to another guy- HENRY! Showdown between Henry and Geo people! They make a bet- whoever gets the most phone numbers wins. Henry starts out really sweet with a girl "You have an amazing face" and she starts to walk away and he goes on, "Your doctor did an amazing job!" Ouch
But it totally works- as does Geo's line about some girls slutty outfit...
They continue trading horrendous barbs with the girls in the club, getting phone numbers, and giving them to Betty to hold.
Daniel and Alexis argue between each other about who their mom should stay with, but Claire hears them and huffs away- so Alexis loses at Rock, paper, scissors and goes to talk to their mom.
Rene shows up at Daniels office and tells him she knew who he was and walked up to him at first to make Wilhelmina mad, but then actually liked him. Daniel holds out and says they should forget it ever happened (good move, she's trouble!)
And the phone numbers are in- Henry wins! (Geo takes all the numbers though...) Betty is testy- mostly because Henry proved the stuff in Phil's book worked. Hilda tells Betty its not a bad book, it gives guys confidence to talk to girls...
Daniel shows up randomly at Betty's house to talk about Rene. Betty tells him if he can't stop thinking about her, maybe he should go for her, give Rene a chance.
Wilhelmina walks into the kitchen the next morning and sees Daniel poking through the fridge- and he tells her all the places he and Rene had sex in Wilhelmina's apartment. She warns him that he'll regret it, because of Rene, that he should be careful.
Amanda and Marc are working on her song for Gene Simmons- so far she has "Gene Simmons, fire breather, blood spitter, I am your little gi-ir-l!"
But they aren't feeling it. They freestyle a little and it's SO FUNNY!
Claire decides to start a magazine called 'Hot Flash' for all the women like her who don't know what to do with themselves anymore...
Betty meets with Phil Roth again and admits (begrudgingly) that it works on some girls... turns out he never told Daniel that he felt Betty was closed minded- Daniel made it up to get her to writ the article.
The elevator opens and Daniel is immediately confronted by an upset Betty. He explains that he did it to get her to step outside of her comfort zone and write about things she doesn't always know about or feel comfortable with. He also tells her that her article is great, and that he really liked it, but then he tells her it won't get published because Alexis pulled the story. Poor Betty.
Henry explains to Betty that he hates when Geo is around because it makes him jealous, not that he doesn't trust her, he doesn't trust Geo though. She tells him she won't see Geo anymore.... no biggie.
Amanda is getting ready to sing with Henry's band... she actually starts with "It's Mandy bitch!!!" (She pulled a Britney!) She goes into an awesome song- and Marc is recording it- Marc asks the guy in front of him to move and the guy turns around- AND ITS GENE SIMMONS!!! Marc tries to tell her, but she just dances more and more- and ends with Gene's famous tongue/fingers thing. After the song, Gene talks to Amanda and they hug it out (awww)... then they go to get a drink and talk it out.
Henry freaks a little because Amanda left and the band has no singer- now who is going to sing? Betty makes Henry go up to cover for Amanda- and he says he's too scared- but does it with Betty... they sing "It Takes Two to Make the Thing Go Right..." a pretty bad cover but the bar gets hopping!
Rene passes Wilhelmina on her way out to meet Daniel and tells her she better tell Daniel the truth (about what???)if she really wants it to work out... and of course Christina overhears...
That's all folks- see ya' next week!

Celebrity Apprentice 1.24.08
Yeesh, so my pick for winner, Gene Simmons, got canned last week, and now I really am annoyed at Omarosa- she should have been first to go!!!
I don't have a new pick yet for winner- maybe this week's episode will help me figure it out. Maybe Carol Alt, maybe Tito...
The PM's this week are Marilu and Vinny... without knowing anything about the task (except is has something to do with Broadway plays) I think maybe just maybe the girls will win, unless the boys carry Vinny through, he seems like a weaker player to me (although I adored him on HBO... sorry Vinny!)
I was right, it was a weak episode- they had to sell Broadway tickets and I actually think the women won...
oh well, I was wrong- by just under $2,000 the men beat the women.
PLEASE send home Omarosa!!!
Cop out, unless Marilu opens her mouth, Jennie will be sent home.
called it- Jennie is out! PLEASE FIRE OMAROSA NEXT WEEK!!!

Celebrity Apprentice 1.17.08
I missed the first minute, but here's the rest of it, live.
Nely and Carol walk back in, so everyone knows Nadia was fired. Omarosa does this pep talk thing saying they just need one win and then it will be a domino effect and the girls will win it all- um, ok. They might stand a chance if Omarosa gets fired, otherwise no matter who she works with, they'll lose!
Alright, because the women are getting beat so badly, Trump asks one of the men to switch over- and of course, Gene Simmons switches to the women's team. The task is something about Kodak, printers and ink (I wasn't really listening, it was boring) and Nely over talks everyone during the meeting with the executives. Later, Gene points out that the Kodak execs are wrong about what they told Nely, and that the women need to focus on more than just the ink...
Stephen Baldwin really enunciates words, over and over again. Tito Ortiz is the PM this week, but it seems like Stephen is taking over- he just keeps blabbering... Piers Morgan suggests a 'knock down' between Tito and Lennox Lewis, then Stephen says "Kodak is going to knock you out!". Trace Adkins (a country singer) is also on the men's team- I feel like he could be the underdog who wins it all if Gene falls through on me. Vinny Pastore (from The Sopranos) is also on the team- and he is hilarious!
Unfortunately for the men, just as they finish taking pics of Lennox and Tito (shirtless, "knocked out" by the Kodak printer...) Stephen knocks over a drink and it goes all over the one laptop they had all their stuff on... they don't know if the laptop will work or if they lost all their stuff, so they come up with a plan B just in case- which they ended up needing- so their presentation is a bunch of sloppy poster's, and their sales skills will matter most!
Gene, as PM for the women, makes everyone do all the work, and as much as you want to criticize him you can't cuz he wins, and is usually right! He gets all the women to sell the printer's, and really just watches as it all happens. Jim Kramer (Mad Money) stops by... I hate his show, he is loud and a blowhard...and he looks much smaller on this show than on his usual show.
The women's presentation is really professional, as opposed to the men's. The men start gaining momentum by really promoting the inexpensive ink, but I think the women are gonna win this one.
Yay! My favorite TV fake CEO- Alec Baldwin showed up to lend his brother support!!! He's funny on 30 Rock, so his appearance definitely lent a lot to the men's team. He buys a lot of printer/ink just to donate to charity, but it was nice of him to show up and help out his lil brother.
So, we are in the board room- and Gene immediately is in the hot seat with Trump over his skipping the executive meeting... but then it slips over the sloppy men's team presentation and Tito explains about the coffee spill... Jim Kramer weighs in and says the men's team had a sloppy presentation, but got the message across better- and Hydra wins! (I am surprised, thought Empresario would take it home) If Gene had gone to the meeting and understood the message Kodak was trying to promote, they would have won- but even in dollar dales, the men beat the women too!
Bad feeling now- Gene is gonna get blamed, but I think he will wiggle his way out and Nely will be out cuz even though he wasn't at the meeting, she was and it will land on her. Yup- I was right- the Kodak execs told Trump that Nely talked wayyyy too much at the meeting. Carol kind of squirms when he confronts her, and the Omarosa attacks Gene in the boardroom by saying he doesn't even know the product (which he doesn't know, even though it's written on his hand).
Trump asks Carol who she would fire, and she says herself or Nely. Omarosa says Gene. Jenny says Gene. Marilu says Gene. Nely says Jenny (huh?) and explains that it is because she isn't a good leader (which makes no sense because she wasn't even PM!). Gene brings Omarosa into the boardroom (but he should have brought Nely too, and now he will be fired). Sucks when ego gets in the way of a smart decision.
Trump tells Gene he needs to bring someone else in, even though Gene asked if he could only bring one and Trump agreed he could! He should bring Nely, she'll be fired EASILY! (Of course, its commercial break!)
So, Gene decides to bring Jenny Finch back in to the board room too (she won a gold medal for something, no idea what). Gene is going home- I am so annoyed at him. Jim Kramer is so pissed he stutters! (I really don't like the guy, sorry). Omarosa immediately defends herself, and Trump asks Gene what he should do, he even says that if he tells Gene to do one thing Gene will go do the exact opposite (Trump wants to say because he's stubborn, but he says because Gene is a strong thinker) and then Trump fires Gene.
Blargh! Such a stupid show today, I may have to stop watching at this point. It was just dumb.

Celebrity Apprentice -Episode 702
Ok, I am late in watching the show, but I saw the first episode and reiterate that Gene Simmons should win, according to me. Now, I have the next episode to watch, during which I will update this blog- so keep reading- here is episode 702 (week 2).
Slight recap- women lost the first task, and Tiffany Fallon (the Playboy playmate) was fired- and wrongly- I think Omarosa shoulda been canned.
I'd like to start with Piers Morgan. He has an English accent, I am unsure what he's been on before, except I think he was a judge for something like "How Badly Can You Sing on National TV" or something like that... he and Omarosa had a brawl (just with words though, hoped he would smack her, but he didn't) in the last board room, and now they are at it immediately when she walks back in. He's not wrong, she is a nobody and not a celebrity and obnoxious- but by saying it aloud, he is also being obnoxious....
On to Stephen Baldwin (who I ADORED in Bio Dome with Pauly Shore- ADORED!). He is doing this for the Carol Baldwin Cancer Research charity- in honor of his mom, Carol Baldwin, and although I don't think he'll win, I am glad to see him sober and on TV, he's just a sweetheart (so far anyway).
I am embarrassed to admit it, but although I can recognize a lot of the people on the show, I really have no idea who many of them are. Lennox Lewis- knew his name but not his face, I recognized Carol Alt (who looks great for her age, but I couldn't remember her name right away) Marilu Henner... and now the Project Manager for the women this week- Nely Galan- who??? It says under her name that she's a TV Executive, and I recognize her face, but have no idea from where. Of course, my favorite Gene Simmons is the PM for the men (naturally, I should have bet money that he would be the next PM- and probably the PM for most of the season unless he leaves or is a complete ass this episode).
So, I'm at the first commercial and kinda annoyed at my fave Gene... he was rude to Ivanka Trump and he's acting like a blowhard. I know that is his way, but still. Now, the men's team has made tactical errors by sending most of the team home with only Gene and Stephen making the commercial and asking everyone else to leave. (Tito Ortiz gets mad about that... naturally... saying "I run a multi million dollar company and I want to know that everything is ok"). The women are kind of petty and not so coordinated either, but I think the men are gonna win this one too- they once again used the 'celebrity' ticket while the women relied on making a 'good' product.
Gene quotes 'Sun Tzu' from 'The Art of War' and its a little bit hilarious actually. I am losing faith in my first pick here.
Oooh, Nadia (the gold medal winner I never heard of) says it right out loud to her teammates- if they lose, it's because they didn't put 6 celebs into a 30 second spot- and she is spot on!!! (FYI- I thought Tito Ortiz was Lennox Lewis, so the executive from Macy's was absolutely right about not everyone recognizing him). As i predicted- the men won- AGAIN.
Also, I hate the team names- 'Hydra' and 'Empresario' - blech.
Bull- all the women saying he should fire Nadia? She even called the whole lack of celebrity thing before they aired the ad- honestly, Nely should be out for sucking at producing a decent ad even if it is her specialty- ESPECIALLY because it's her specialty! However, since Nadia isn't sticking up for herself in the boardroom, I think she may be sunk... and she is fired. (I looked her up- she won all kinds of Olympic gold medals for gymnastics...)
Hmmm. This season is just not getting me excited- I keep waiting for it to start....

Celebrity Apprentice
I watched the premier episode last week when it aired on TV (usually I watch all my TV online at 2am when I am awake) and while completely underwhelmed by it- and annoyed that Omarosa wasn't fired right away, its going to capture my attention this season. Mostly, because it's funny to see celebrities sweat it out when we've already seen regular people do so- but also because their personalities are already developed for the public eye, so there is definitely going to be major head butting and ego bashing!
I predict Gene Simmons in the final two as of right now. He is way savvy and was hilarious- calling rich friends to buy $5000 hot dogs for charity!
I'll write a better post about this weeks episode after it airs.
