Celebrity Apprentice (Episodes 7 & 8)

Yawwwwn, I don't know why I actually watch this show anymore- since I am bored before it starts (although the whole Gene Simmons sex tape scandal happening just after he 'left' the Apprentice was a bit convenient and the most exciting thing to happen all season- warning- don't look it up- I saw a 2 second clip and my eyes still hurt...)

Anyway, Piers is still talking, since last week, not sure what about though. I think he is still blathering on about Omarosa....

Dum Dum Dum... everyone gets called into the boardroom and decides to mix up the teams... and the boys team is pissed!
I wish he would have put Piers and Omarosa together- oh wait, he did! HAHAHAHAHA
Finally, something funny! Piers is already bitching about having to be with her- this will be a funny episode.

Ok, the task is to take three horse and carriages into Central Park and raise the most money they can giving rides. The smart thing to do? Advertise a carriage ride with Tito or Lennox- the recognizable faces. Or get Gene Simmons back for a cameo (I'm a little one track, sorry).

Um, Stephen- 59th is not the same as Central Park South! It's close, but it's not the same thing!!!

As predicted Omarosa and Piers are arguing non-stop, to the detriment of their task, of course.

Billy Baldwin looks just like his brother! And they pimped him out!!! How funny!

I think Piers is gonna lose- his idea of keeping some of the carriages ready and available in case a huge donor showed up was stupid- he lost the smaller tickets because of it- but Omarosa was really crude, saying his kids hate him in front of everyone!

Jenna Jameson showed up! How cute! She donated $1000 to Tito's (her boyfriend) team and went on the carriage ride with him....

Ivanka saw Piers and Omarosa fighting and it was ugly... so glad I don't know either of them!

Trace Adkins is really funny- he's quiet, but when he actually speaks up he is hilarious!!!

Piers realizes at the last minute that he is going to lose because he didn't sell street tickets...
I really don't feel bad for him- but I do feel bad for Carol and Lennox for having to deal with him and Omarosa...

Trump should fire both of them for dragging the show down- that's the smart way to deal with them both!

This sucks- Piers' team won... I am so disappointed. That means either Trace, Marilu, Tito or Stephen has to go home. This truly truly sucks.

Trump moved Omarosa to the losing team, but it really sucks. As far as I can tell, the only thing anyone on Trace's team did that could even be labeled a 'loss' was when Tito went on the carriage ride instead of staying behind to keep helping- but even that isn't fair because it raised $1000!
Omarosa is like that fat ugly loud chic in the bar who keeps over emphasizing everything to mask their insecurities... I truly dislike her!

This is bull- Trump should call Piers and Omarosa back into the room and fire them anyway- they both lost because of their behavior! What- Trump isn't firing anyone!!!

Wow- I am impressed that he didn't fire them, but disappointed that Piers and Omarosa are still around. And poor Marilu, she has to go to Piers' team and Omarosa will plague Tito, Trace and Stephen now...

(cute ending- they showed the driver standing outside next to the empty car...)

well, on to episode 8:

Omarosa is so full of it- Trump doesn't like her, he likes the ratings she stirs up, cuz that's all she's good for!

The task this week is to produce a 10 minute segment selling something on QVC. Could be a funny task, if they mess up, it's live....
Hmmm. Tough call so far- it could go to either team- unless Stephen loses sight of the goal.... then his team will lose...

They flipped a coin to see which team got the ladder that they bost wanted to sell- Stephen lost, so he had to get the sweeper thing... sucks for him...

Marilu's team should put Carol on QVC BECAUSE SHE HAS A FAMOUS FACE!!! Instead, they nominated Marilu... not even Lennox?

Stephen voted Trace to go on air and sell the sweeper thingy... hmmm

Marilu dropped her co-host on his butt... that was stupid. He was on the ladder/hand cart and she dropped him... yeesh!

Stephen one ups her by being even dumber and not rehearsing with Trace and his co-host at all!

Seriously- let Tito win the Apprentice now and get it over with!

By the way- I totally would have bought the sweeper thing- I have carpet and really don't want to buy a heavy vaccuum... if it was $15 or less, I'd totally have bough it! Unfortunately it's $60... oh well.

Marilu is a little manic on air- she's doing a great job but kind of not letting the other host speak... she did a great job, but whew- I was tired watching her!

Stephen should go home if his team loses, even if Trace messes up, because Stephen vetoed the rehearsal before going live...
Trace is smooth, but he is NERVOUS!
He is very calm and laid back, and he describes the product really well- how cute- they made it into 5 easy payments of $11.99 to try to get people to buy it... so funny...

Stephen's team won! I guess I am happy, I mean, fire Piers PLEASE!!!

Uh oh- Carol and Marilu both messed up by not implementing easy-pay (they'd both been on QVC before). Piers totally threw Lennox under the bus saying he was 'sleepy boy'.... FIRE PIERS ALREADY!!!

SEND PIERS HOME
SEND PIERS HOME
SEND PIERS HOME

Marilu did talk too much, but Piers shoulda gone home last week, and the week before, and the week before that, so... I know Carol should have known about Easy-pay since she'd been working for QVC for 5 years prior, but I HATE PIERS so

SEND PIERS HOME!!!

Whatever- Trump is losing his edge, too many seasons of Apprentice- he should cut Piers in an instant- I think he kept him around for ratings cuz his show SUCKS!!!

The Oscars (live blog) a.k.a. 80th Annual Academy Awards

I am a little late (traffic) but I am live blogging the Oscar's... from LA! (We finally moved, I am very happy to be here)

I caught the tale end of George Clooney introducing a montage of Oscar moments (the clip of Charlie Chaplin thanking the academy for inviting him was sweet- I never saw him old, only young in costume).

Now, Anne Hathaway (wearing red, looks pretty) and Steve Carrell are introducing Best Animated Film. The first one is french, and I don't get it. Ratatouille is also nominated (a rat cooking my food? no thanks, lost my appetite). Surf's Up, by far the cutest should win...
Ratatouille wins it!

I like that they honor animated stuff, but it sucks for the people who do them- they get almost no recognition, except when they win, as in this instance, and then just one guy out of the entire team gets to go up and accept the award- but it's cool that they included animated films...

Katherine Heigl- stunning red dress... stunning! She looks like an old Hollywood movie star- marriage certainly agrees with her!
Achievement in Makeup- nominated, La Vie en Rose, Norbit (really? Norbit is nominated???), Pirates of the Caribbean (Hope it wins!!!)....
La Vie en Rose (never heard of it).

It always cracks me up when foreigners accept- they are so proper and their accents are so sweet and, well, foreign...

YAY!!! I am so excited for this song- Enchanted!!!! Amy Adams is going to sing Happy Working Song!!!! I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!

I would also like to say that I have the biggest crush on Jon Stewart... he just has such a funny take on life. I am glad he was invited back to host this year...

Amy looks awesome- her dress is really pretty (length is a little long, needs to be 2 inches shorter) she seems to be struggling a little to sing the higher notes, but I love her, loved the movie (am obsessed with it actually) and am glad she is getting recognized for that....

Not sure why they have launched into a Michael Douglas/Catherine Zeta Jones montage, but its always fun to see past winners reactions...

I am taking this commercial break to ask- how does one become a member of the academy? I would love to have dvd's of all the nominated movies mailed to me for my viewing pleasure... and then get to vote on the best ones... if anyone knows where to sign up, let me know- I want in!

Dwayne Johnson (why was he introduced that way- he is, and always will be, The Rock). He is introducing Achievements in Visual Effects- The Golden Compass (never saw it, need to read the books first), Pirates of the Caribbean (hope it wins!), Transformers (great movie... now I'm torn).... oh well, Golden Compass wins it!

Ok, since I don't care what these guys are saying, I will interject- so far the Oscars seem kinda bland this year... I thought they were going all out? Just saying...

Cate Blanchett looks ok- she has looked much better this year, but she still looks okay. I missed the name of her category, and lost track of the nominated movies trying to find out- the winner is Sweeney Todd! (I love Johnny Depp, so I am glad).

Oy, why does he keep wearing those glasses? The camera flashed to Johnny and Vanessa Paradis in the audience- she always wears harsh red lipstick (it must be a foreign thing) and he won't give up those dark think glasses... oh well.

Yay- we're up to the acting awards!
(but first a montage of past winners...)
Jennifer Hudson is presenting (she looks very polished, no crazy about the dress- it's pretty but she looks chunky).

Best Supporting Actor... Casey Affleck, Javier Bardem, Phillip Seymor Hoffman, missed his name- older gentleman from Into the Wild, Tom Wilkinson... Javier Bardem will win...
Yah! I called it!!! He was the favorite to win this category, so no surprises yet...

K, don't get the binocular montage thing... really, don't get it. Give the time to someones acceptance speech!

Kerri Russell- her dress looks very beautiful (she needs a new hairdresser though, and maybe a tan). Introducing the song 'Raise It Up' (didn't catch what movie it is from). Wow- this little girl singing is really good. (Want to bet she records an album by the time she's 18?)
Hmmm, liked Amy Adams better (I am so prejudiced- I loved Enchanted that much!!!)

I love Jon Stewart, I do. He isn't that funny tonight- I wonder if he was edited?

Owen Wilson (glad to see him alive and healthy... he's had a rough year).
Best Live Action Short Film... (no idea) Le Mozart des Pickpockets (I will never see this movie, congrats though).

Yay- another french acceptance speech- so thankful to be a part, so happy to have gotten the award, sank you sank so verrry muchhh, merci au revoir....

And Jerry Seinfeld managed to get his dumb bee character some lines in the awards show... introducing more montage stuff (featuring, bees, naturally).
Outstanding Animated Short Film.... Peter and the Wolf

I like the lady's red dress (Susie Templeton)- oh, and she has an english accent (of course).

ANOTHER montage? Yeesh.

Alan Arkin is presenting (you know, the grandfather from Little Miss Sunshine)
Best Supporting Actress... Cate Blachett (favorite to win), Ruby Dee (American Gangster- great movie), the little girl from Atonement, Amy Ryan, Tilda Swinton (she is such a powerful actress)....

Tilda Swinton won it! (did not see that coming) She should have won for The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe... and of course, she has an ENGLISH accent. I'm telling you, if you're foreign you win!
Her dress was interesting- kind of quirky, like her. She played an angel in Constantine with Keanu Reeves- she has that androgynous male/female look...

Jessica Alba... wearing a piece if Big Bird dyed purple... yuck. She's pregnant- she could have worn anything and looked hot- not this! And she is blabbering (reading the TelePrompter badly) about the scientific awards she presented a week ago...who cares?

Jon Stewart just made a funny crack (finally) he noted that Cate Blanchett and Jessica Alba are both pregnant, but went on to say "but the night is still early and Jack (Nicholson) is here... we'll take a re-tally at the end of the night." Of course, the camera showed Jack laughing...

Josh Brolin and James Macavoy are presenting...
Best Adapted Screenplay... Atonement, Away from Her, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, No Country for Old Men, There Will be Blood (the favorite)...
No Country for Old men wins it!!!

We're getting a little video tour of how the movies are chosen, nominated and voted on to win the awards...basically a ginormous PriceWaterhouseCooper commercial.

Miley Cyrus is presenting?!?
Wow, she looks great- gorgeous red dress- needs a new hairstylist, but she is introducing "That's How You Know" from Enchanted- sung by Kristen Chenowith!!!!
(for the record, Amy Adams did a way better job in the movie).
But I love Kristen's dress and she is awesome in Wicked.
They have brides and grooms dancing just like the movie... I have to go see it again... sigh

Love it. Such a cute song... way to go Enchanted!!!

Ha Ha- Jon just added Nicole Kidman to his list of pregnant chicks....

He introduced Judy Dench and Halle Berry- but then the guy from knocked up and the guy from the Kelsey Grammer show 'Back to You' (the heavy set guy- Josh?) walked out instead and are arguing about who is representing whom... then introduced
Best Sound Editing... The Bourne Ultimatum

Best Sound Mixing... The Bourne Ultimatum (again)

Forest Whitaker is presenting... sorry, spaced out- have no idea
Oh, Best Actress... what????? How the heck did she beat out Cate and Ellen Paige?
Blech,
sorry, Marion Cotilland won.
(p.s. she has an accent.) I don't love her dress, it's pretty but kinda been there done that pretty.

Actually, as she walked away, the back was very pretty, I apologize and take it back.

Colin Farrel (hello, has he done anything lately? I haven't seen him around at all) presenting the 4th nominated song- "Falling Slowly"
It's a pretty boring song-I'm checking my facebook as I sit here....

Jack Nicholson... he is so awesome.
He is presenting a montage going through all 79 movies that were awarded best picture...
which side point, Jack was in at least twice - One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest and last year's Departed.

Renee Zellweger is presenting...
Achievement in Film Editing... The Bourne Ultimatum

Nicole Kidman looking beautiful- gorgeous jewellery, nice (safe) black dress (5th pregnant lady, although Jon Stewart didn't mention it) is presenting...another random montage.

Robert Boyle is onstage...the announcer said he is an honorary Oscar recipient. (what does that mean exactly- does he get one to put on his mantle or doesn't he?)

Why is Harrison Ford tearing up during Robert Boyle's speech?
Anyone?

Jon Stewart is cracking up... something obviously happened during the break...
Penelope Cruz is walking out- her dress is pretty but I am tired of her always wearing navy...
presenting Best Foreign Language Film...The Counterfeiters

Patrick Dempsey... (silent cheering- he is so cute) presenting the final song from Enchanted- "So Close" (also a really great song).

Just so you know- I have the soundtrack and play these three songs over and over in my car, plus Carrie Underwood's Ever Ever After... if you have not gone to see the movie- GO SEE IT!

The guy singing it is also a cutie- hope he gets more famous from this- he has a gret voice and has the right look to make it in the industry as a singer.

Ouch- he missed the one high note... but did a great job otherwise.

John Travolta... just came out dancing the ladies from the previous song...
his hair looks weird. Shoulda gotten the hair cut 3 days ago so it would look good today...
presenting the best song-I want 'That's How You Know' to win...
yuck.
It was nominated three times in the same category and Enchanted lost?????
'Falling Slowly' won. Oh well.

Go watch Enchanted and buy the soundtrack to make up for it.

Jon Stewart "To the owner of the Boeing 707 parked on La Brea, your landing lights are on"
John Travolta comes running across the stage... Funny!

Jon Stewart just called out the lady who didn't get the chance to say her thank you speech for 'Falling Slowly' - and she is talking- A LOT
Whew.
Jon is such a gentleman.

Cameron Diaz- pretty pink dress, stumbling over the teleprompter, but recovering well... her lips look weird. Presenting...
Best Cinematography... There Will be Blood.

( I was looking at pics of Renee Zellweger on the red carpet- her dress is fabulous- did not come across as pretty on TV, but the photos are phenomenal).

Hilary Swank, bad hair, decent dress- boring safe black though... presenting...
(My favorite part, unfortunately)
In Memoriam.

I always cry... I was actually okay until they showed Heath Ledger... that got me this year.
(Deborah Kerr, Jack Valenti, got me a little, but Heath, still breaks my heart, such a senseless loss).

Amy Adams is back- in a different dress- gorgeous hunter green (goes incredibly with her hair)...
Original Score... Atonement, The Kite Runner, Michael Clayton, Ratatouille, 3:10 to Yuma...
Atonement wins it!

Tom Hanks... introduces the troops stationed in Baghdad... soldiers are saying hello and thanking the Academy for including them- presenting the Oscar for Best Documentary Short Subject to some random women- sorry, can't read the small type... the lady is kinda cry-screaming her thank you speech... pretty silver dress though.

Tom Hanks presents Best Documentary... Taxi to the Dark Side

Sorry if I missed anything- I stepped out for a moment.

Helen Mirren (looking wonderful in a red stunner with silver sleeves -she always covers her upper arms...) presenting
Best Actor... George Clooney (who I think will win), Daniel Day Lewis (who deserves to win), Johnny Depp, Tommy Lee Jones, Viggo Mortensen....
and the winner is...

Best Actor... Daniel Day Lewis!!!!!!!
Good for him!!!!
He was robbed last time!!!!
Wow, I am so happy for him!

He accepts his statue from Helen Mirren and says "That's the closest I'll ever come to being anointed..."

Sorry- earlier I missed Juno winning for Best Screenplay.
"This ain't no etch-a-sketch baby!"

Martin Scorsece (who FINALLY won last year for Departed) is presenting
Best Director... the Cohen brothers take it! No Country for Old Men...

Denzel Washington is presenting... Best Motion Picture...
Atonement, Juno, Michael Clayton, No Country for Old Men, There Will Be Blood....
(I say There Will be Blood)
Wow- No Country for Old Men takes it!!!!

That's it for this year- hopefully the writer's won't screw up award season next year!

Lipstick Jungle (episode 2 and 3)

I reiterate, this show is good, the outfits are funny in a 'we're not trying to copy a past hit but come on it's Patricia Field baby!' way, and the writing has been decent thus far.

It's too early to tell, but since I haven't stopped watching yet, I say it's a go. I will say this though, I don't find it exciting enough to write a blow by blow description... I'm holding out that it will get a little bit better. I have noticed that they name drop though- last episode was Leonardo DiCaprio, this episode was 'Ben Affleck did Pearl Harbor for a case of steaks' (Really?).

Yay! Janice (Wendy's nemesis) is played by Lorraine Bracco (formerly of The Sopranos). No idea who cast her, but it was a good move- this character is great for her!

Kim Raver is playing Nico who is married to a guy who hasn't slept with her in a long time, so she has an affair with a much younger guy, who turns out to be her photographers assistant.

I waited all episode for this- finally something truly funny- Victory Ford is looking for inspiration for her new line and sees a street vendor selling a hat she made in design school to a tranny... Victory asks if she can buy it, tranny says no, Victory follows her to her house, tranny threatens pepper spray, Victory retreats but returns another day with coffee and pastries- and sees said hat walk out the door on the head of an old lady on her way to the synagogue! The funniest part is when Victory asks the old woman if she can buy her hat and the woman's friend says (totally authentic) "What are you, some kind of animal? She can't be in the house of god with her head uncovered!" To which Victory responds, "Can we go outside?"

Very cute.

Ok, besides the part where Wendy's ex-nanny has written a tell-all book about how she sucks at being a mother, I just noticed that her office has a gold door. Yes, a GOLD door. I want a job that gives me an 8 foot gold door. I would totally walk in and look at myself in it all day... I kid, but hello, how randomly quirky and cool?

I used to like Kim Raver on the show with the fire department or whatever it was- although she totally changed her face since then, and while I think she looks gorgeous now, I wonder what prompted all the plastic surgery (and who is her surgeon?!?)

Awww, Joe gets the hat from the old lady for Victory... awwww

I have a crush on this show- how cute!

Third Episode:
I think Nico's husband might be secretly gay- why else would he be avoiding her physically? She gets busy with Kirby the assistant at a photo shoot and avoids getting caught, but her co-worker who is gunning for her job might have caught a whiff that something is going on between the two of them...

Victory hires a new assistant who comes from designer royalty- but she hires him when she gets a call from Joe's assistant asking to speak to Victory before Joe gets on the phone, and the almost new assistant says he will put Victory on the line as soon as Joe gets on... he's hired!

Victory bugs Joe to come to dinner so her friends can meet him, and he promises he will but she has to meet his friends first, in Paris, that night... when they get there, he takes her to Coco Chanel's apartment (yes, that Coco, that Chanel) and Victory is all inspired...then Joe reveals he has no friends...but he brought her there to be romantic. Awww

Flip to Wendy having a day from hell- she brings her daughter to a luncheon and Janice is there, and her daughter pushes all of Wendy's buttons and Wendy snaps at her, which if course Janice notices... Wendy had bought her daughter Maddie a pair of really expensive shoes and while Nico is introducing Wendy to speak, Maddie realizes her mo only brought her to show what a good mother she is- so she takes off the shoes, slams them onto the table and walks out... Janice confronts her in the bathroom and when she leaves a gorgeous fur coat outside the stall, Wendy takes Janice's bright red lipstick and writes 'bitch' across the back!!! Priceless!

So, Joe and Victory show up at Nico's place and Joe immediately makes friends with Nico in a very cute way, then the doorbell rings and he says "Ahh, that must be my assistant, I asked her to bring over my dinner" and when they all look at him, he assures them it is a joke. It is actually Kirby, who came to see Nico, who called his boss and accidentally got him fired (so she screwed him, then she screwed him)....
unfortunately, even though it all went well, in the car after dinner Victory alludes to more get together's and Joe asks why he needs to see them again now that he's met her friends and she goes off on him a little, which sucks because it was a really romantic night till that point...

But the next day his assistant shows up at Victory's house with a gift from Joe- the mannequin from Coco Chanel's apartment.... awwwww... except Victory makes them wrap it back up and take it back.... (Boo).

Pause. Halt. Hold the phone!!!

Brooke Shields (whom I have loved since I was very very young and didn't even know her name) is trying to convince the mom and agent of one of the young actresses she gets movie roles for that the role the mom is vying for her daughter is not good for her that it 'can lead to trouble when a young child is forced into a role they may not be comfortable with' Blue Lagoon anyone? (look it up if you have no idea what I am talking about).

Nico goes after Janice to protect Wendy by hiring away her assistant and she confronts Janice and threatens to print all the stories her pilfered assistant is telling Nico!

Great episode- I won't spoil the ending, but I will say, way to go!

Survivor: Fan vs. Favorites

Hmmmm, I remember the first Survivor (years ago) and how it was such a new concept- starnding a group of strangers on an island and making them outlast, outwit.... this season in Micronesia (I will give them this- I have learned a lot of geography watching this show over the years) they brought back a group of favorites and put together a group of fans and they are competing against each other. In my opinion, it owuld have been much more interesting to mix the two groups up, but it's ok, I can hold out for the merge for that.

Eliza is still annoying, Amanda and Parvati (the only other time I ever saw this name was in Harry Potter and even then I thought J.K. Rowling made it up) still flirt to get by and Cirie is funny but a couch potato trying to prove that yes, even couch potatoes can be on Survivor. I haven't even gotten to the men yet! James, Ozzy- huge threats- stupid tribe shoulda voted on of them out asap....

I'm kind of bored with the show, but I like watching it when I have nothing else to do- actually, I listen to it while I play Mah-jong on my computer....

Big Brother

Is anyone else watching this show?

I got into it two or three seasons ago and find it so addictive- even though 75% of it is no plot at all... anyway, this season is starting out interesting. There is a lot of the usual backstabbing and stuff, but it gets more personal than I remember it being in previous seasons. Also, I do not understand why people can't keep their secrets- they feel the need to blab EVERYTHING in the first few days- and that is why Jen went home (poor Parker).

If you are into reality tv, this is pretty much the cadillac of that kind of stuff- check it out on www.cbs.com

Lipstick Jungle (Pilot)

I know, it premiered a few weeks ago, but I've been caught up watching the last 3 seasons of Lost and have severely neglected everything else on TV.

So, the first 4:14 minutes of the show are cute, fun and informative... we learn all the girls names, their ranking on the '50 Most Powerful Women' list... and that the fashion world can be a cruel place... so far, I like it. Kind of like my guilty secret, this show reminds me of sitting in a dark kitchen at 2am scooping the cookie dough out of the ice cream.

I like the way this show is turning out- good story lines, pretty actresses- new faces for some of the guys (I hate when the same good looking hunks play the same guys on all the shows, we get it, they're hot, but they can't act, that's why they never get any better roles than that!) Anway, so far so good- I think it's funny that Victory's date has his assistant call her, sends a car to bring her to him, and then when he meets her he is on his phone so asks her to wait a minute... so typical.

While it obviously is a Sex and the City themed show, I feel like it is a little more mature and not just about who is sleeping with whom and what they wore before they got into bed! It is so cute that Victory paid for dinner with the millionaire- and the next day he sent her a note that said "If someone else pays my dinner the least I can do is leave a tip" and hundreds of bouquets of flowers get delivered into her house...

Also, the guy who played Terrence on Big Shots (he was killed) is Brooke Shields husband Shane on the show... wasn't I just saying I hate re-casting pretty faces? Oh well.

I'll watch the other two episodes at some point and write it all up.

Lost (season 2)

My apologies- I literally have not watched ANYTHING else since discovering Lost two weeks ago. I am watching the entire thing, starting at season 1, on abc.com- and currently have only a few episodes left in season 2.

I am rushing to catch up so I can FINALLY stop the suspense and watch the current season!!!!

As soon as I get up to speed, I will catch upon everything else again....

I must say though, for such a great show (I know, everyone else knew how great it was, I missed it somehow) it managed to slip past my radar- mostly because I saw a few minutes of one episode and was COMPLETELY bored out of my mind- just goes to show, I should have given it another chance!

Cool fact- the Pilot and first episode were the most expensive to produce in TV history- between $8-10 MILLION each! The guy who signed off on the budget for it was FIRED before the Pilot aired- even though it became a massive success!

House (online episode- must see!)

Ok, I have secretly been watching back episodes of House while I wait for all my other favorite shows to get written- this week Fox.com posted an episode that blew me away.

House treats a Hasidic woman who just got married- seriously, watch it.

They get a lot of the words and facts accurate and House has one very funny line- "Then she gets married so she can pop out little hasidlings..."

Anyway, enjoy!

Celebrity Apprentice (week 6)

So the women finally won one- and Vinny 'resigned'.

I am creeped out by Stephen Baldwin, last week he irritated me by getting excited by the whole spying thing and then backpeddaling 100% and saying he didn't support it- although I really think Piers shoulda been sent packing...

HAHAHAHAHAHA
Omarosa begins the show by dumping a glass of champagne over Piers's head.
Then Stephen tells Piers he can't work with him...and wants to leave.
Stephen meets with Mr. Trump and tells him he can't continue working with Piers. Instead of resigning, which is what he went in there to do, Trump assigns him to the women's team! The women are less than happy, but what is even funnier is that Stephen tells the women if they even just tell him to shut up and make coffee for them, he'll do it.

Lennox and Omarosa are the Project Manager's and the task this week is to create a 'living window' featuring Vera Wang's specialty designed Serta matresses...

As much as the women's window was great, I thought the men did a better job.

I knew it! he men won- so now someone has to be fired from the women's team- I think Omarosa will be gunning for Marilu...

Nailed it again- she brought Marilu and Nely - I think Omarosa needs to go!!!

Whatever- Trump fired Nely. So tired of the stupid firings- why is Omarosa still there?

2008 50th Grammy's Live on ABC

I am blogging the Grammy's live- I always wanted to do this- never works as well with an awards show when you watch it a few days later- all the good stuff has been edited out and all the scandalous bits have already hit the gossip pages- so here goes....

(FYI- it's being held at the Staples Center in downtown LA and yes, I should have gotten off my rear end and tried to go, but honestly- and you know I'm right- the show is so much better live on TV! After parties- now that's a whole other story, but not tonight, I'm staying in)

I am looking forward to Amy Winehouse's live via satellite performance, but because I hope that she kinda messes up- we'll see.

Ok, odd- they are starting the Grammy's with an old black and white recording of Frank Sinatra...talking about Grammy's...
and that sequeways (spelling?) into Alicia Keys DUETING with Frank Sinatra! (I believe Lisa Marie did this earlier with her dad, so no points for originality!) I do love old Blue Eyes though, so I'll forgive...

I love her dress the color is phenomenal- she finally got a good stylist to dress her well! Kudos Alicia! Plus her voice is always a pleasure...

Side thought- I always wonder why a terrorist doens't bomb one of these events- it would be just as devastating, plus it would take out billions of dollarsin american celebrities- not that I'm suggesting it, obviously!

Alicia introduces Carrie Underwood- performing "Before He Cheats" which should be a warning to anyone she ever dates! Don't let her get the car keys!!! A little Stomp-ish, but cool take on the song- her black jacket with black booty shorts and black boots, not original but obviously packs a punch. She has really come into her own since American Idol!

Prince!
On a stage!
In a red zoot suit!
I MISS HIM!!!

Best Female Artist:
( I predict Mary J Blige)
Alicia Keys!!!

Still love her dress, although it clashed a lil bit with Prince's suit- glad she won, although I think Mary deserved it more...
I just noticed, her makeup looks really fresh and clean- her makeup artist deserves a bonus- good job!

Not much happened before the first commercial, although Alicia Keys dominated so far... don't really care about the Kanye West performance, but Feist might be awesome (liked her song for the ipod nano)

Jimmy Jam (Chairman of the Academy) is making a speech- and he gets interrupted by the original members of 'The Time' which I amnot familiar with bu they have a cool keyboard guitar and great dance moves- plus the little guy in the sparkly gold zoot suit (I thought Prince's was something- got nothing on this!)

The entire band is jumping right to left in coordinated steps- how cool- and here she comes- Rihanna...
Not a huge fan of her dress, but I do like her hair. Wish I was confident enough to pull off a short punk pixie cut.
(Love the sparkly umbrella's- is she selling those in her new line?)
She starts of with 'Umbrella' and moves in "Please don't stop the music" which I actually can't stand, mostly because it is on the radio every 2 minutes, but she does give great performance...

...and now she is doing some sort of line dance with the old guys in the suits- which again, I give them props for but have no idea what their music is!

Tom Hanks is onstage, talking about another group I am not familiar with (Bob Dillon's old band???) They have received the Lifetime Grammy Acheivement Award- and they are called 'The Band'. Still don't know 'em, but congrats to them anyway!
oh, Tom is still talking, sorry
Now he's going on about the Beatles (yes, I am a closet fan) and Ringo is sitting in the audience, but I don't see Paul yet.

Fun- a Beatles tribute!Starts with 'A day in the life' performed by Cirque Du Soleil from their show 'Love'.
starting out tame... just got coller- aerial performers and such...
ok, this is a little weird, I am all for performance art, but its kinda sucking. Sorry.
(must be one of those things that are better live)
oops, still going- now it's on "Let it be"(a personal favorite song)
I have no idea who is singing it live, the little guy or the ginormous lady- no clue. and a choir just joined them all onstage...

wow, the Grammy's are sucking very badly this year- see what happens when there is no more Britney or Christina to rely on?!?!?

I wonder how Ringo Starr feels, watching his music get massacred?

Oh thank god, its over.
Hopefully the show gets better from this point on-
Cindy Lauper and Miley Cyrus are presenting (who the hell dressed Miley? A streetwalker? She's like, 15!!!)

Best New Artist:
(I predict Amy Winehouse)
Amy Winehouse!!!

And now Jason Bateman is on stage (why does he sing?)
He is introducing three musicians in a pre-recorded contest to see which one gets to play with the Grammy orchestra... yawn.
Plus, Jason is screwing up reading the teleprompter.

I need a commercial, back in a minute- hope it gets better this is really bad!

And we're back.
Kanye West.
I hate his attitude- I really do, he is such a sore loser- but he does put on a great show live. I will give him that, but I sincerely hope he gets a new attitude and fast...
Even just listening to the owrds to his song- 'Stonger' he is so high on himself. Such a turnoff.

I was just going to write that he is trying to be the black Michael Jackson- and then realized how funny that sounds!
(His glasses look really stupid).

the dj's are so cool! They have neon glow suits on- sick!

I will begrudgingly admit that he finally brought the Grammy's to life- although now he is singing a slow song that I am pretty sure is about his mom who just passed away recently.
It's actually touching, but most probably an act... he is just too conceited to actually reveal his true colors unless is resulted in drama and a better headline.

and now Fergie is singing- not sure what, but she is singing.
Saw her live at Fashion Rocks, she is a great performer- why isn't she bringing it now?
Love her dress though- has a great shape.
Not such a fan of the song though.
Just noticed- John Legend is playing piano for her.

And now Fergie and John Legend are presenting best soundtrack album:
(I predict Dreamgirls)
Love!!!
Wow, I thought Hairspray would take it if Dreamgirls didn't! Hurray for the Beatles though- they are having a great day! (Doesn't Michael Jackson own like the whole catalog? If he still does, he must be making money from this).
How cute, Ringo Starr accepted! Such a cute Beatle (not as cute at Paul though)

This is sad- Kanye West is the best thing the Grammy's could come up with? Stupid writer's strike!

Cher (wearing something from those old soap operas!) introduces Beyonce (wearing a lime green bathing suti with a lace jacket) who introduces Tina Turner!
'What's love got to do with it?'
She looks fabulous- and sounds great too! Love her silver corset (ignoring the silver tight pants)

So, this is her first performance since her ex-husband Ike Turner died. Wonder if its a bittersweet or milk chocolate sweet moment?

Tina reintroduces Beyonce- they are singing together- I like Beyonce's new silver dress...a lil short, but very sparkly...
Awesome song- working for the man every night and day... big wheels keep on turning.... rolling, rolling, rolling down the river...
It's like watching the pro teach the novice, and then let them step into their shoes- very inspiring to see them singing this iconic classic together
Kanye just got bumped to 2nd place- way to go ladies!

Nelly Furtado, Andy Williams and Rosalyn Sanchez are presenting- did you know Andy Williams was the original host of the show for the first 7 years?- they are talking about Burt Bacharach.
He is a Grammy Lifetime Acheivement Award receipient.

and now, presenting the Songwriter's award:
(I predict Umbrella)
Amy Winehouse- Rehab!

Way to go Amy!!!
Sucks she couldn't be there to accept, but I know she is performing via satellite later so, better than nothing...

Back to the pre-recorded stuff (yawn) Ann Marie Calhoun won (if you care).
Now she gets to play with the Foo Fighters...cool prize though!
I haven't heard them in so long- hope Dave Grohl is still great.
It's ok, not awesome, but I will give him points for being energetic.

George Lopez just got onstage, for some reason talking about the election- introducing Brad Paisley... still yawn (I have no love for country, sorry).
Like his guitar though... but he is singing a song about ticks! Quoi?

Ok, Chris Brown and two other people are onstage presenting something... (I think it's Neyo and Solange Knowles)
Best Rap ALbum:
(I predict Kanye West unfotunately)
Kanye West

Whatever. He's still wearing those stupid glasses and that dumb light up vest.

Move it along.

He's such an ass. Seriously, they started playing the music to get him to shut up and then he started talking about his mother... and since they were still playing the music he said 'It would be in good taste to stop playing the music now".
I really dislike him.

Ludacris is presenting Lifetime Acheievement award to Cab Calloway (who?).
and now introduces BB Wynans and Aretha Franklin.
She is wearing a humongous yellow outfit thing- I don't get it. Why would a big woman wear an even bigger outift? Wear something black and slimming and just play it safe- let the young twenty somethings take the fashion risks!
It's turned into Gospel hour.
Hello- this is the Grammy's not the BET Music Awards- play rock!
It's 9:45, if it goes past 9:50 I may just give up.
Who are the Clark Sister's and why are they on stage singing a gospel jesus song?
Now some other group is singing, more jeysus stuff...

9:48- 2 minutes- shucks, they brought banana Aretha back...

Wrap it up folks, bring back Britney bitch!

9:50- I am a great predictor. It's finally over!

And now it's 9:55 and it's been commercial ever since... blech

Carole King and Dirk Spedley (who is the guy?)
Talking about bluegrass music- Earl Struggs- who is a Grammy Lifetime Acheievement receipient- introduce Feist!
Yay- she is doing 1,2,3,4....
(another awesome Canadian y'all!)
I like her dress- shiny black and sparkly... she is a bit tame in performing-shoulda done something similar to the commercial... oh well, still better than gospel!

Keeley Smith (first ever Grammy winner for something, I didn't catch it) and then Kid Rock joins her onstage...
and they duet!
Old Black Magic.... ever see the Nutty Proffesor (Jerry Lewis version?)
It's cutesy- never imagined Kid Rock to sing this kind of jazzy stuff though, kinda refreshingly fun...
now they present
Best Rock Album:
(I predict Bruce Springsteen)
Foo Fighters

Hmmm, good for them- even if I haven't heard their new stuff...
How cute- Dave Grohl dedicates it to his daughter Violet...

Stevie Wonder is onstage now... he is always such a cutie at these events... introducing Alicia Keys!

Oooh, I like this dress even better (only see it from the back so far- black and shiny!) Oh, and I just noticed, her hair has been blown out and straightened- it was up before- good for her!
She stood up- loving the dress- black and gold shiny sparkly shirt with black pants (my bad, not a dress)

Wait, I'm confused- now it looks like she is wearing a short dress with black leather leggings! Whatever- I like it.
She is such a great performance artist- love it! She brings a raw energey- and she just introduced John Mayer!

Secret- I am waiting to see John Mayer ive- there is something brooding and awesome about his music- I have to see it for myself one of these days.

Ringo Starr abd Dave Stewart are coming onstage now... to present
Best Country Album:
(I predict Brad Paisley)
Vince Gill
(never heard of him, not a country fan)

BRING ON AMY WINEHOUSE ALREADY!

OOOOH this guy is funny- he gets up on stage and says, "I just had an award handed to me by a Beatle.... have you had that happen yet Kanye?"

Snap! That was hilarious! I may go out and buy this guy's album just for that comment!

10:20pm- I am getting tired. I got invited to a Grammy after party (in the last hour) but I think I am passing- I'm too exhausted. That gospel earlier just sucked the life outta me! (Sorry Aretha)

Joe Montegna is up, presenting Itzaak Perelman andMax Croach lifetime acheivement awards...and now introduces Long Long and Herbie Hancock performing Mozart's Rhapsody in Blue.....snore.... GRAMMY'S ARE S'POSED TO BE SAUCY AND POP CULTURY- not all this classical jazzy upscale back in the day stuff.... so glad I did not pay money to sit in the audience... I would already be alseep (except when the orchestra gets a little animated, that would startle me...)

10:31 pm still playing classical music

Taylor Swift (he's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar...)
and some other guy are presenting...
Best Rap Song Collaboration:
(I predict Umbrella)
Umbrella- Rihanna ft. Jay Z!!!

Why is she wearing the ugliest blue dress I have ever seen? Love her hair still, but not the dress. (This is her first Grammy?) Wow!
Jay Z looks great, nice tux. Heard a rumor that he and Beyonce have matching ring finger tatoos symbolizing marriage...
Way to go Rihanna!

Cuba Gooding Jr. is live via satellite to introduce Amy Winehouse...
She looks great! (Well, for Amy anyway)
She is so musically talented, I wish she wasn't such a trainwreck, although I have a theory about that- i think its the totured ones who are the most creative...
Did she just dedicate this song to Blake- her husband?
yay- Rehab- no no no

Spooky- its kind of like she is singing about her life- taunting her family maybe... wow. The words are so real now.
I got chills, but maybe a foreshadowing kind, not a good kind... not sure.

They should have let her accept her awards too...

Natalie Cole and Tony Bennett are on stage now, Tony is a lifetime award winner, and together they are presenting a tribute to Doris Day (another lifetime recipient) and now present
Record of the Year:
(I predict Justin Timberlake)
Amy Winhouse!!!!

Awww, they showed her live- it looked like someone punched her- she turned around and ran for a hug from her bandmates and parents... way to go AMY!
She thanks her parents and Blake... and mentions the fire that burned down that pub in London... I am really glad she won- maybe this will help her get her priorities and life together...
(She has such a thick accent- I never realized- wow)

Neil Portnoy is talking about how the Grammy's help the world... and what the people who work there do the rest of the year...I think he just gave a shout out to the WGA...

Eldar (who played on the Grammy stage when he was 12) is back to show how awesome he is 10 years later, thanks to the Grammy's program that helped him learn piano in school. Awwww
I'm still bored.

Now they are doing the 'In Memorium' (which I always tear up at some point)
Wow, this is the first time I didn't cry...

Such a bonus- I love Andrea Bocelli- he is singing in honor of those lost this year, specifically for his friend, Luciano Pavarotti, and dueting with Josh Groban.
Great collaboration... love these two musicians...
(Um, Celine Dion and the Celtic Women also covered this, and it is much better sung by females, no disrespect intended, it just is)

Andrea Bocelli- another music great I would love to see live one day...

11:07pm- how long is this show?

Ok, now Bonnie Rait introduced a bunch of old guys who sang songs I know, but back to my first point- the GRAMMY'S are supposed ot be young and hip!!!!

11:23pm- I am giving it till 11:30 and then I am out.

Will.I.am is singing something random- but so funny- he is basically rapping, then mixing in old songs that have won Grammy's in the past 50 years... very well done.

Usher and Quincy Jones (27 Grammy winner!) are up on the stage- miss Usher- wish he would make a hit album again... Hahahahaha- Usher said "There are no losers in this category, Kanye!" Album of the Year:
(I predict Amy Winehouse)
Oh, Herbie Hancock won... (WHO???)
boring, kinda like the rest of the show. Amy shoulda won, she was robbed.

Alright peops, I'm out- this was a waste of time... usualy the show is awesome a rejuvenates the music scene for the next few months- I feel like this sucked it all out of me and I will be listening to cd's in my car for the next little while... instead of the radio...

G'nite
(see ya in 2 weeks for the Oscars!!! Feb 24th)

Cashmere Mafia 2.6.08

How exciting- Lipstick Jungle is FINALLY on TV- I have been waiting forever!

Cashmere Mafia is its direct competition, so before I watch it for the first time, here is last week's episode...

Soooo Mia has an intense brain surgeon boyfriend, Zoe forgot her 10th wedding anniversary is coming up but she promises to clear her schedule for it and is also going to meet her 'work husband' (a co-worker she has never met in person but emailed and video conferenced with forever) for the first time. Caitlin finds out her lesbian girlfriend is pregnant and Juliette has to deal with her rebellious daughter getting suspended and her husband draining all their money and being separated from him.

Holy hell- why is Mia wearing a mandarin orange as an outfit? Accesorized with grapes and apricots for earrings? BLECH! I thought she was fashion forward- yuck!

So, Caitlin meets up with Sam (the guy from the bridal shower) for dinner and they see Aleasha (her girlfriend) so they sneak out the back... and she has an awful hangover the next day and Aleasha confronts her and she admits that she slept with Sam...

And then Mia cheats on her new boy neoru surgeon with Zoe's MANNY! I get it, he's cute... but young... and then Zoe catches them... awkward

Juliette brings the girls along to hire an attorney to represent her in her divorce- and finds out her husband already hired him!

This show is like a bag of caramel corns- sweet and yummy for the first few bites, but then even when it'sjust too much sugar, you can'tstop- have to keep eating them!

Eli Stone (Pilot and 2nd Episode)

Sorry, I've been busy and haven't had time to watch anything this week- so I am blogging the pilot and first epsiode together- I have no idea how the show was received by the general public or the media, but I was looking forward to it.

It's a little slow getting started, but obviously has a cute-ish theme- we find out he lost his virginity to a George Michael song to a girl who is now asking him for legal help because a vaccine harmed her son (not his son, btw).

He has these visions and goes to a chinese acupuncturist and slowly gets memories back... it's still a lil slow... but I like that George Michael is randomly making some sort of a comeback (admit it, we all perk up when we hear his music- his songs just have that effect!)

Anyway, he wins the legal case and then finds out his visions are caused by a hereditary aneurism that he has, that his dad also had, and then his mom gives him his dad's ashes and tells him his dad wanted him to have them and that he would know what to do with them- so he goes hiking up a mountain in the Himalayas with sherpas to scatter his dad's ashes. Oh, and Dr. Chen thinks he might be a prophet- and that's what the real meaning is behind his visions...

Jury's still out for me- here's the second episode:
He comes back from his trip to dispose of his dad's ashes and hears a choir- which turns out is singing George Michael's 'Freedom'...

I will keep watching, but I haven't been blown away by this show... thank god the writer's go back to work on Wednesday!!!

Celebrity Apprentice

Before I blog about last week's episode can I address this surprising fact that I just found out- Tito Ortiz is dating Jenna Jameson! I didn't know that, and it doesn't affect the show or how I feel about it, but it caught me off guard when I found out!

This week, athletes foot was spread as the teams had to make a campaign to get people to donate their old Croc's (yes, the ugly mugly shoes) so they could be (gag) given to people who need shoes!

I am all for charity, I am- but buy the poor people some new shoes for goodness sake!

Vinny and Piers fake fought so Vinny could stand outside the room and spy on the ladies team... it was really funny...because then Vinny knocks on the girls door and offers to work for them because 'he can't get along with Piers'... but it was a staged act! How stupid are the women? Hello- they know how to be cutthroat- why are they acting so so so FEMALE?!?
I am laughing inside- but it's a little pathetic at this point. Carol will get fired, becase the women are going to lose and she will pull in skeevy Omarosa and blah blah blah we all know how it goes.

Vinny is freaking hilarious- he repeats the girls ideas and writes them all down and sneaks out and tosses it to Lennox Lewis! HAHAHAHAHA it's like passing notes in high school! But Vinny also gave the ladies a lot of good ideas- he just couldn't help himself! Funnier still is how Stephen Baldwin didn't pick up thenote- he got Lennox to go get it because he didn't want to cheat...what did he think they were doing sending Vinny over in the first place?

Yeesh- backpedalling 911! Vinny tells Marilu why he went to their team, but comes clean and decides to help the women win.

To make it even funnier, Ivanka comes to visit and Piers tells her the whole thing- and she says she is 'slightly into sabotaging' but is totally surprised that the women didn't realize it could have been a trap!!!

I'm not sure why Piers let Nely know he knew the girls slogan- seemed kind of a stupid move to me, but he rubbed it in her face and now it's game on- the girls are pissed.

It went from very funny to extremely stupid... I'm over it.

Both presentations were great- but the girls had a better bin, the boys had a better slogan...
I think the women might finally win!

Um, Vinny seriously thinks he's a mafioso- I thought it was funny but he believes it!

The women won! Wow- I think it's about time! Although, it wasn't as much because of the job Carol did, as much as the mess with Vinny/Piers...

Vinny showed he's not as smart as he projected- I kind of want Trump to fire both Vinny and Piers.
Why are they playing Journey 'Don't Stop Believing'? Total misuse of a gret song.
Vinny resigned.
Blah.

Lost

How embarrassing for me- I claim to watch all the best TV shows- but until last week I had never seen even one episode of Lost!

Truth is, when it first came out there was a lot of other new stuff to watch, so I never got into it, and then I kept hearing about this hatch, and how mysterious the island was... and basically decided it was a stupid show- however- I apologize to everyone who watches the show because last week when I ran out of things to watch (writer's strike!) I decided to take advantage of abc.com and watch all the seasons- and I am blown away!

Last night, I watched the final episode of season 1- tonight i am going to start on season 2 and we'll see how far I get over the weekend. I haven't watched the new stuff yet- SO DON'T TELL ME- but I will gear up for it and keep posting as I watch each season...
