The Big Bang Theory

I know I typically watch the hour shows on TV as opposed to the half hour sitcoms, but this show is starting to get addictively cute and funny.

The show isn't fully developed yet, sometimes it comes across a little two dimensionally, but for the most part it is absolutely hilarious!
Leonard plays a nerd who lives with his roommate Sheldon, who is the most anal retentive genius ever. Leonard has a crush on Penny, the girl who lives across the hall, but always comes in second place as a friend with her.
They have two nerd friends, Walowitz and Raj who are hysterical as support characters. Walowitz is a smarmy Casanova wannabe who macks on all the girls, but never actually scores (until this weeks episode actually...) and Raj is afraid to talk to girls but manages to score anyway.

At the restaurant where they are having lunch, Sheldon is having a hard time ordering and ends up taking forever, there's a funny line where Raj says "Can we please just order, not only are there children starving in India, but there is an Indian starving right here!"

Sheldon is actually the funniest character, but the guy who plays Leonard is a better actor from what I've seen so far. There are really funny lines and dialogue and if you don't pay attention you can miss some really great smart jokes.

You can catch episodes on www.cbs.com/innertube and since I consider myself an expert on what's playing on TV, I seriously recommend this as something to check out if you like smart funny shows but can't commit to an hour show. (It's written by the same guy who does Two and a Half Men, Chuck Lorre). If you're only going to watch one episode- choose 'The Luminous Fish Effect' it's absolutely the best episode so far.

Tip: if you pause after the credits roll there's always a joke written by Chuck Lorre and they are pretty funny too- he also does this on Two and a Half Men.
