I get these emails from celebritydeathbeeper.com and yes, it alerts me when anyone remotely famous passes away- well earlier today I received this one:

Troubled Actor Brad Renfro Dies at 25
Jan 15, 8:13 PM (ET)
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Brad Renfro, the troubled young actor whose film career began at age 12 with "The Client," has died. He was 25.
His body was found in his Los Angeles home early Tuesday, his lawyer Richard Kaplan said.
Renfro served 10 days in jail in May 2006 after pleading no contest to driving while intoxicated and pleading guilty to attempted possession of heroin.

I know he has been out of the spotlight for a while, but I also remember back when he was THE hottie- you know, him and Devon Sawa and JTT (Jonathan Taylor Thomas for all you who didn't get to read issues of Teen Beat snuck into school and frantically passed around so you could rip the biggest cutest pictures out before anyone else and put them in some sort of collage.... but I am off track)

Anyway, he was in a bunch of stuff back in the day, and it made me sad to hear that he passed away so young, under sad circumstances. After researching it a bit further, I only found a little more info- http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/01/16/2139715.htm?section=entertainment
RIP: Former child star Brad Renfro
Actor Brad Renfro - former child star of such films as The Client and Tom and Huck, who battled drug abuse in recent years - has been found dead in Los Angeles.
He was 25.
A Los Angeles County Coroner's spokesman says Renfro's cause of death is under investigation.
"I can confirm that Brad Barron Renfro is deceased," spokesman Ed Winter told Reuters.
"He was found unresponsive in a residence ... Paramedics responded and he was pronounced dead at 9:00am (local time)."
Celebrity website TMZ.com reports that Renfro - who pleaded guilty in 2006 to charges of trying to buy heroin, just months after a picture of his arrest ran on the front page of the Los Angeles Times - had just finished filming a movie with Winona Ryder and Billy Bob Thornton.
Renfro made his film debut at the age of 12 as a young boy who knew too much in the 1994 John Grisham thriller The Client, starring Tommy Lee Jones and Susan Sarandon.
The following year he earned notice for his role in The Cure.
After entering his guilty plea in February 2006, Renfro - who had a string of run-ins with the law - was ordered into a drug treatment program and placed on three years' probation.

As I said, I am sure there will be more information as they investigate, but it is still sad.
My condolences to his family, friends and fans.
